SALES ASSOCIATE | PART-TIME

Adorn Me Africa is a multi-brand concept store and subscription box that spotlights and brings a curated experience of contemporary African fashion brands from different countries throughout Africa. We work to bring even more awareness to the amazing ethical and sustainable fashion creatives both budding and established brands that we partner with as well as the artisans and makers that we source from!

We are looking for a new addition to our team!

Do you love fashion?! Do you have a desire to grow your knowledge of African fashion and culture? 

Where have you been all of our lives?!  

We are a growing retail business located in the heart of Somerville! The person that would be a great fit for this position is someone who loves people, who has a passion for fashion and a flare for creative strategies.

Sales Associate Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must have previous sales experience

  • Knowledge of sales standards and customer service routines

  • Must be attentive to customers needs and determined to provide customer satisfaction

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, multitask, be flexible and meet deadlines

  • Must have proficient math skills to handle cash and credit card payments

  • Basic computer skills including spreadsheets, data programs and PowerPoint

  • Work well with others and be a team player

  • Ability to manage schedules and inventory

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Lover of fashion and styling 

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs 

  • Experience in sales is necessary

  • High school diploma or GED 

  • 6 months - 1 years experience in retail sales

  • On-the-job training provided

  • Some knowledge of retail and fashion 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Working knowledge of POS payment systems desired but not necessary

  • Must have a reliable transportation 

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills

A successful candidate should have at least 6-months of sales experience and  some understanding of maintaining inventory;  strong customer service skills, retail experience and a desire to grow in the knowledge of Adorn Me Africa’s  products and services.

 Day-to-day activities include: 

  • Greeting customers 

  • Learning about and staying knowledgeable about our range of products

  • Explaining to customers the best products for their needs

  • Recommending related products to increase customers’ options and enrich the shopping experience 

  • Explaining the benefits and functions of products, method of preparation and how to use them to achieve the best results

  • Accepting and processing orders, operate the POS register and resolve returns issues

  • Assisting and managing off-site pop-up events
